It might seem harmless after a long night—too tired to wash your face, telling yourself “just this once.” But dermatologists are warning that regularly sleeping with makeup on can quietly damage your skin in ways many people don’t realize until it’s too late.

What feels like a small shortcut can actually trigger a chain reaction beneath the surface.

Throughout the day, makeup traps dirt, oil, sweat, and environmental pollutants on your skin. When you go to sleep without removing it, all of that gets pressed deeper into your pores for hours.
